We held our first Entered Apprentice Degree of the year, welcoming two new brothers to Sherburne Lodge. Please Welcome Brothers Chris Peddicord and Jeremy Maguire!
Our newest Master Masons prove up in their 3rd Degree and did a very nice job, completing their journey as Master Masons. Here they are receiving their Masonic Bibles, Brothers James Kush, Kyle Scott and Scott Rudlong, with our Sn. Warden acting as Master for the night and conducting the Proficiency Exam.
Some of our members, along with those of Whittemore Chapter #283 went out and raised money for the Salvation army. This is the 2nd or 3rd year of the lodge participating a few times in this great event to help those in need around the holidays!
We installed the Officer Line for the 2014 year at our home in the American Legion in Elk River. Many new faces but all eager to continue the work began this past year.
We were so pleased to raise three new Master masons today, as well as doing a courtesy for Anoka Lodge, making our own lodge stronger and growing as we transition into this next year! It was great to our WB Bob Bowersox come out and do the work he does so well!
We held our first Awards Night and Pin Presentation at the lodge in a long time, catching up on giving out year pins and creating some awards to show our appreciation for all the Brothers do throughout the year. Some of this years receipients were WB Bob Bowersox who received the Excellence Award and Brother Ken Warneke who achived the Mason of the Year Award for Sherburne Lodge.
Once again we held a Fellowship Night at the lodge, this time our first at the new building. (American Legion) We had a great turn out and everyone had a good time!
We held our Fellow Craft Degree for our three Entered Apprentices, as well as a courtesy for Wayzeta Lodge #205. It was held at Anoka Lodge and our own WB Ken Martin did a nice job sitting in as Master for the night!
We held our Inaugural Meeting at our new home at the American Legion in Elk River. We also received our new copy of our charter from the Grand Lodge which was presented to us by the Grand Senior Deacon, WB John Studell, whom we also received in Grand Procession and with Grand Honors.
We held a cooemorative dinner at what will soon be constituted as our old lodge as we plan to move out to a new location in the following weeks. Sharing stories of it's past and reading parts of the history of the lodge removed from the cornerstone taken out in the previous weeks. Though sad that we are moving on we enjoyed the memories, coming together this past year and becoming stronger as a Masonic Family and are looking forward to the future.
Starting what will hopfully become something that will become a tradition, members of the lodge went out and visited our Brethren around town, this night stopping in at Nelson Lodge #135. We were lucky to be there for an EA Degree and a couple of us also assited with the work!
Once again we held a Fellowship Night on the 5th Tuesday of the month, this time with BBQ out in the parking lot of the lodge!
We held our first EA Degree of the year and most likely our last at the lodge at Upland Ave. We brought three new Masons into the Fraternity and everyone did a great job in their roles. WB Bob Bowersox came in and did a great job in the Masters Role, Kilt and all!
We held our 1st ever Fire Fighters Appreciation Night at Sherburne Lodge. Inviting local Fire Fighters to a dinner to show our thanks for what they do for our community. The Mayor of Elk River, Jim Cunningham came and gave a nice speech. We had a good meeting afterward and it was great to see some faces we don't normally see.
In accordance with WM Jamie Romness's idea, we held our 5th Tuesday Fellowship Night at the lodge, inviting both our sisters of the Easter Star and our families. We had a nice turn out and the food was really good!
The members of Sherburne Lodge came out to this years Grand Lodge Communication, spending time at the opening and workshops with a few of us enjoying the hospitality suites in the evening.
Our Sisters in the Whittemore Chapter #283 held their Officer Installation for the coming year. It was a nice event and everyone looked lovely!
