It has been a good year for candidates and we were pleased to have two more Men who are beginning their Masonic journey. It was Brother Kyle's first time sitting in the East and he did a nice job as did all the Degree team.
We once again held our Oktoberfest Night, changing venues this time to the Krause-Hartig VFW. We had a good turn our as we raised money once again for our WB James LaRock Scholarship Fund and Jack's Baskets, raising over $1300 as we had fun, with lots of fun raffle prizes won by those in attendance!
With our move to the Lodge in Osseo, we decided to get more involved in our new community, what better way then joining in their local Lions Roar Parade! It was a small group who were able to make it, but what a fun if not short parade which passed right by our lodge room doors. Once again it was very gracious of the Selim Grotto Clown unit to let us use their float!
We were scheduled to hold a Dual meeting with our Prince hall Brothers at Anchor Hilyard Lodge which turned into a wonderful chance to attend a Master Masons Degree for 8 Brothers being raised. What a wonderful night of learning and sharing of ritual, with members of Cass Lodge putting on Dinner and Assisting with the work as well!
It was fun to gather once again, for our 4th year, as a Masonic Family and spend some time in just a social and fun setting with our own families and enjoy the summer months. The food was great as always and so was the fellowship!
Once again, for a 4th year, the Sherburne Masonic family participated in the Sherburne County Parade in Elk River. Honoring our roots by still being a part of this event, we represented the various Masonic appending bodies as wel as our own Blue Lodge and Whittemore Chapter. It was a beautiful day and the parade went quickly. Much thanks to the members of the Selim Grotto Clowns for letting us borrow their float!
It was great to once again get out as a lodge and visit our Brethren nearby, this time heading up to Fraternal Lodge #92 in Princeton Minnesota!
It was our honor to be a part of this Historic Celebration of the forming of the United Grand Lodge of England, on this day, St. John's Day, 300 years ago. The Brethren of Anoka Lodge #30 graciously hosted the event with speakers and members of all Masonic Appending Bodies, including Minnesota Grand Lodge Officers.
It was a wonderful night as we presented three students with Scholarships from the WB James LaRock Scholarship Fund. Also in attendance was the Grand Master of Minnesota Masons, MWB John Studell! We were also happy to be able to present Jack's Baskets a donation from the Beer & Cigar night!
We held our second Master Masons Degree of the year and even did a courtesy for North Star Lodge #23.
For a 5th Year in a row, Sherburne Lodge has gone and spent the night with the new Grand Master of Minnesota Masons, sadly, due to family issues he could not make it but it was still a great evening with Brothers from all over the state!
We were happy to hold a Fellow Craft Degree for Brother Steven as he took his next step on his Masonic Journey, with Brother James and WB Ken sitting in the East for the 1st and 2nd sections!
The Sherburne Masonic Family got together and bagged groceries to raise money for our WB James LaRock Scholarship Fund!
